PRIVACY POLICY
Thank
you for considering Bunk1.com ("Bunk1"). Our mission is to
provide a safe, fun, nurturing, and educational environment
for the entire Bunk1 community, including the individual summer
camps ("Bunk1 Camps") that partner with us to create and operate
camp websites that are hosted on Bunk1's website.
This
privacy policy outlines the extensive safeguards we've taken
to protect your privacy. This policy also explains exactly
why we ask for the information that we do.
This
is a long document, so here are the highlights:
- BUNK1
WILL NOT SELL OR RENT ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO
ANYONE
- Bunk1
will not disclose your personal information to any third
party unless a third party will use such information to
provide you with a product or service you have requested,
or unless required by law
- All
private areas of a Bunk1 Camp website are password protected,
and intended only for users affiliated with a camp (e.g.,
camper, parent, employee)
- Upon
your request, Bunk1 will delete or change any personal information
we have about you
Scope:
This privacy policy governs Bunk1's treatment of "personal
information" that Bunk1 collects when you are anywhere on
the Bunk1 website, including any Bunk1 Camp website and any
other pages hosted by Bunk1 that are linked to a camp's independent
website. This policy also pertains to any personal information
that Bunk1 may receive from its business partners. This privacy
policy may not apply to websites outside of Bunk1's control
that you may visit through your use of Bunk1. Such sites include
third party websites connected to our network and "co-branded"
sites that display the name of both Bunk1 and the Bunk1 business
partner that hosts the site (a co-branded site may be, for
example, "powered by" or "provided by" a business partner).

Because Bunk1 does not control these sites, Bunk1 cannot be
responsible for their information practices. Please check
the Privacy Policy of any website before offering any of your
personal information.
Personal
Information:
"Personal information" is information that personally identifies
you. Bunk1 will ask for your name, email address, address
and phone number during the registration process, as well
as in connection with products and services that Bunk1 offers.
Bunk1 will ask for credit card information if you wish to
purchase goods or services offered on our website, and as
an optional method for certain parental verification procedures
(see below). In addition, if you are seeking potential employment
at a summer camp in the Bunk1 network, you may be asked to
provide other personal information (such as a social security
number).
Bunk1
asks for personal information when you: (a) register on Bunk1,
(b) sign up for offers from third party business partners
of Bunk1, (c) enter sweepstakes and contests sponsored by
us or one of our partners, (d) send email messages, submit
forms or send other information or content to Bunk1, or (e)
purchase goods and services through Bunk1. We also may receive
certain personal information from some of our third party
partners. If at any other point Bunk1 seeks to collect personal
information from you, we will make it clear to you that we
are collecting such information, and our reasons for doing
so.
Bunk1
asks for personal information, among other things, (a) for
billing purposes; (b) to provide you with the products, services
or information you have requested; (c) to anticipate and resolve
problems with your service; (d) to personalize your service;
(e) to investigate activity that may violate our Terms of
Use Agreement; and (f) to develop and market products and
services that may be of interest to you.
Sharing
Your Personal Information With Camps:
Bunk1 Camps are Bunk1's partners, and each Bunk1 Camp operates
its camp website together with Bunk1. If you choose to register
with Bunk1, you will be asked whether you are associated with
any Bunk1 Camp (as a camper, counselor, et. al.). If you are,
your personal information will be shared with the owner or
director of that Bunk1 Camp (and only that Bunk1 Camp), in
connection with the operation of their camp website. This
will allow you to be approved as a member of the Bunk1 Camp,
and to access the various private areas of the camp's website.
Bunk1
will also share your personal information with camps if you
ever explicitly request Bunk1 to do so. (For example, you
may be seeking summer employment and request that Bunk1 forward
a staff application to hiring camps.)
With
Third Party Partners:
Bunk1 will share your personal information with our third
party partners who offer products and services to you through
the Bunk1 site only if you
indicate that you would like to receive products, content
or other information from any of our business partners (e.g.,
camping and sporting goods, clothing, news information, advice)
The
business partners and camps to whom we would disclose personal
information have agreed to maintain the confidentiality, security
and integrity of the information. For a list of Bunk1 partners
that host co-branded sites, contact privacy@bunk1.com . Bunk1 may share non-personal, aggregate, or summary information
regarding our users. This kind of information will not identify
you individually. Bunk1 may be forced by law to disclose information
in response to subpoenas, court orders or other legal processes.
We may disclose your personal information as we, in our sole
discretion, believe necessary or appropriate in order to comply
with the law or to enforce our Terms of Use Agreement. Additionally,
despite Bunk1's best efforts, third parties may unlawfully
intercept or access transmissions or private communications.
Cookies:
Our servers automatically collect information about what parts
of Bunk1 and affiliated sites users visit and which pages
are viewed. We use a feature of your browser called a "cookie"
to assign a User ID that automatically identifies your computer
when you visit the site. This is common practice on the Internet.
Cookies do not tell us anything about unrelated sites that
you visit, nor do they tell us anything else about what you
may do on your computer. Bunk1 uses cookies to determine who
is a new visitor to Bunk1 vs. who is a repeat visitor and
other overall site statistics. Other companies, including
advertisers, may also collect information from you through
cookies while you are on Bunk1's site. Those companies' use
of their cookies is subject to their own privacy policy.
User
Choices:
Users and parents of users under 13 may, at any time, change,
add or delete any personal information you supplied to us
or refuse to permit any further collection of personal information
by emailing privacy@bunk1.com.
If you delete information, it will not be used by us or disclosed
to third parties in the future. If you have opted to receive
email messages from us about products and services that may
be of interest to you, you may, at any time, change your mind
by forwarding the email you received to unsubscribe@Bunk1.com.
Please note that any personal information already disclosed
to third parties will continue to be subject to such third
parties' privacy policies.
Security:
We use industry-standard efforts to safeguard the confidentiality
of your personal information, such as firewalls and secure
socket layers where appropriate. Your account is password
protected to ensure that only you (and your parent if you
are under 13) have access to your personal information.
All
campers who wish to have accounts with Bunk1 must be registered
to ensure that Bunk1 has verifiable parental consent. Parents
may revoke their consent at any time by emailing parents@Bunk1.com.
Parents
have the right to consent to the collection of personal information
from their children under 13, without consenting to Bunk1's
disclosure of that information to third parties, by checking
the appropriate box on the Bunk1 consent form. Please note,
however, that if a parent gives consent only for collection,
this consent will still allow Bunk1 to share personal information
with a particular Bunk1 Camp owner or director if the child
is a camper at that camp. Bunk1 shares this information because
that camp operates its camp website along with Bunk1.
Bunk1
will not condition a child's participation in an activity
on the child's disclosing more personal information than is
reasonably necessary to participate in such activity.
Message
Boards and Other Private Areas:
Message boards, photo galleries and other private areas of
a camp website are intended for members of that camp community
only. For your security, these areas require passwords that
are provided to people affiliated with that camp (e.g., campers
and parents).
To
promote a safe and friendly environment online, Bunk1 and/or
the camp owner (or other camp owner-designated camp staff)
may monitor and Message Boards, use filtering software, and
remove any material it finds inappropriate or objectionable.
In addition, Bunk1 and/or the camp owner (or other camp owner-designated
camp staff) may investigate any complaints about users who
are improperly using Bunk1's services to harass or annoy others
or gather personal information. If you believe someone has
gained improper access to any private areas, or you encounter
any other problems with Bunk1 users, please notify Bunk1 at privacy@bunk1.com.
You
should not disclose personal information on a Message Board.
If you voluntarily disclose personal information, that information
can be collected and used by others.
